Choir Members

Take a moment to read through the words of this hymn written by William P. Mackay in 1863.

REVIVE US AGAIN

We praise Thee, O God!
For the Son of Thy love,
For Jesus Who died,
And is now gone above.

Refrain
Hallelujah! Thine the glory.
Hallelujah! Amen.
Hallelujah! Thine the glory.
Revive us again.

We praise Thee, O God!
For Thy Spirit of light,
Who hath shown us our Savior,
And scattered our night.

Refrain
Hallelujah! Thine the glory.
Hallelujah! Amen.
Hallelujah! Thine the glory.
Revive us again.

All glory and praise
To the Lamb that was slain,
Who hath borne all our sins,
And hath cleansed every stain.

Refrain
Hallelujah! Thine the glory.
Hallelujah! Amen.
Hallelujah! Thine the glory.
Revive us again.

All glory and praise
To the God of all grace,
Who hast brought us,
and sought us,
And guided our ways.

Refrain
Hallelujah! Thine the glory.
Hallelujah! Amen.
Hallelujah! Thine the glory.
Revive us again.

Revive us again;
Fill each heart with Thy love;
May each soul be rekindled
With fire from above.

Refrain
Hallelujah! Thine the glory.
Hallelujah! Amen.
Hallelujah! Thine the glory.
Revive us again.

According to the definition from the Merriam-Webster dictionary the word 'revive' means:

1. to restore to consciousness or life : become active or flourishing again
2 : to restore from a depressed, inactive, or unused state : bring back
3 : to renew in the mind or memory

The word revival is dated to 1651 and is defined in the following ways:

1: an act or instance of reviving : the state of being revived: as a: renewed attention to or interest in something

b: a new presentation or publication of something old
c (1): a period of renewed religious interest
(2): an often highly emotional evangelistic meeting or series of meetings
2: restoration of force, validity, or effect (as to a contract)

Our Pastor refers to his committed church members as 'choir members'. Choir members are the ones that you know will be there at every service, as soon as the doors of the church open, they are the ones active in the church and in the community reaching the lost. They are the ones that see the churches across America falling away from the Lord. They are the ones who are fasting and praying for a revival. They are seeking a personal revival for their own life, one that will touch the church, and spread across America and around the world. If one person had a true revival they with God's help could change this nation.

Remember, God is in control and the kings heart is in the hand of the Lord and he turns it so wherever He pleases. God holds the future and we know not what tomorrow may bring forth.
Proverbs 21:1: "The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will."

Lamentations 3:22
It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

Lamentations 3:40
Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.

2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

James 4:10
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

Jeremiah 10:21
For the pastors are become brutish, and have not sought the LORD: therefore they shall not prosper, and all their flocks shall be scattered.

Jeremiah 23:1
Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD.

Jeremiah 29:12-13
Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Let us humble ourselves and seek and return unto the Lord.
